I don’t know how Black deals with 1.Qh6 with the threat of 2.Rh3. If 1. … Rg8 2. Qh7+ Kh7 3.Rh3#
Nice easy one. 1. Qh6 threatening mate on g7, Black has to play 1. … Rg8 and then it’s 2. Qxh7+ Kxh7 3. Rh3#
Susan – how about you and Paul pitching a cable chess channel show in the US
Yeah Susan a chess channel! PUSH!!! A puzzle with a horse on e6 Susan i thought Kasparov said this stuff dont exist! They “Mixin me up” Judge Mathis!! hahaha.
Do not see what black could do against the straightforward Qh6, followed by the rook lift to h3. However, no tactic involved in my suggestion so there probably is something even faster?!
Beelze
1. Qh6 Rg8 (otherwise 2.Rh3)
2. Qxh7 Kxh7
3. Rh3#
1.Qh6 Rg8 [only move]
2.Rh3 Nf8 [only move]
3.Rf4
and black cannot prevent mate.
For example, if 3…g5 then 4.Qxh7+!

I like the cable program. You have the energy, the contacts, and frankly, the “presence” to do this.
As to the puzzle, the best I can see is 1.Rh3
then if 1…h5 then 2.Rxh5! wins.
if 1…Rg8 (intending to follow with …Nf1,) then 2.Qc3! attacking the black rook, and then 3.Rxh7+ and 4.Qh3 is mate.
1.Qh6 idea 2.Rh3
so 1…Rg8 idea 2.Rh3, Nf8
but 2.Qxh7+! following by 3.Rh3 mat
I would go for an immediate
1. Qh6 and I don’t see a defense to the coming 2.Rh3.
1.Qh6, then White’s checkmate is unstoppable. For example: 1.Qh6 Re8 2.Rh3 Kg8 3.Qxh7+ Kf8 4.Qh8#
1.Qh6
(threating 2.Rh3)
1…Rg8 with the idea that after 2.Rh3 black can play 2…Nf8.
But 1…Rg8 loses to Qxh7+ followed by Rh3#
Hi,
I find Bxg6 appealing, as it stops the move g4-g5. After that there is not a clear cut sequence, but I would go:
1. Bxg6 []
2. Qh6 []
3. Rh3 []
whats wrong with the caveman sort of approach…Qh6 and RH3?
