Kramnik convincingly won the 2009 Tal Memorial with excellent preparation, energy, and aggressive play. He also gained nearly 14 rating points.
Magnus Carlsen made a comeback in the last two rounds by defeating Ponomariov and Leko. He gained enough rating points to take over the #1 spot in the world on the LIVE rating list.
Anand was doing well but his last round lost to Aronian dropped him to a tie for fourth.

Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
Can Kramnik and Anand break 2800 again?
I just want to thank you Susan for great comments work during Tal, and impressing work for chess in general. You’re a real force.
Your commentary is the best. You should have your own show.
how often must be a world championship match? And how many games must be played?
I’ve never seen Anand play as poorly as he did today. 12. b3? was such an obvious lemon, not to mention g3? and Rc1?. Give credit to Aronian, but Anand was completely unrecognizable.
What were the prizes for the Tal? Will Chucky get more wine and vodka? Will Magnus go to Disney World? What was at stake here? How much money does last place take home? First place?
Inquiring minds want to know!
Congratulations to Kramnik – the best of the Russians. Chucky did a great job. And Carlsen is back grinding down his opponents. I sure hope Carlsen will win the next candidates tournament for the right to face Topailov (Anand???). Anand has these lapses when he plays like a Patzer and this just won’t do. H’ever he has no chance against Topalov in Bulgaria,as the Bulgars will leave no stone unturned and will pull out all the stops to ensure that their man wins!(Moro knows what I mean!)

Topalov must be grieving. Not only did his enemy Kramnik win the Tal Mem but he has lost his boasting rights as No 1 to a teenager.
GM PolgarI would like to get your opinion on the free program Chessbase 12 I downloaded it and it seems really top notch and easy to use.
Duh, Getclub is stronger! Duh!
Susan, in your live commentary to the Leko-Carlsen game, you commented about how Fischer and Kasparov dominated not only in playing results and but also in their amazing demonstration of knowledge during analysis sessions. Did you ever have the opportunity to analyze with Karpov and did he demonstrate similar prowess during analysis sessions? People tend to forget his runaway scores and unbelievable positional crushes from 1975 through the advent of Kasparov.
I haven’t forget, the Karpov dominance was mighty too! Up until the 5-0 against Kasparow in his first part of the match in 1984.
With a splendid display ten yrs later in Linares when his class showed once more.
