Rapid chess – Portisch equalises in second day versus Spassky

Budapest, April 14 (MTI) – The second day of a rapid chess tournament between Hungarian grandmaster Lajos Portisch and Russian legend Boris Spassky in the western resort of Heviz resulted in a draw.

The two grandmasters, both aged 70, are playing six rapid games in the local cinema at the spa town from April 13 to 15.

The Saturday game in which Portisch played black ended in a draw while the other game in which he led with white was a victory against the one-time Soviet player who now plays for France. This brings the score so far to 2-2.
