On the rest day of the 15th Dubai Chess Open, the organizers have staged the Axiom Cup Dubai Blitz Tournament. The event with 89 players was completed over nine rounds of Swiss system.
GM Salem A.R. Saleh (UAE) won the tournament with 7,5/9 points to the delight of the local chess fans. Georgian GM Mikheil Mchedlishvili finished with same points but weaker tie-break score.
