e2e4 Amersham Congress
e2e4 Amersham Congress is scheduled to take place on 18th – 20th May 2012, at the De Vere Latimer Place Hotel, Latimer, Chesham, England. The Congress consists of three tournaments, FIDE Open, FIDE Challengers and FIDE Major.
FIDE rated players may play in the Challengers or Major if they are rated below 2000 or 1750 respectively irrespective of ECF grade. Players without a FIDE rating may play in the Challengers or Major provided they have an ECF grade below 170 or 140 respectively.
Colours for round 1 will be decided by a sporting event in the days preceding the tournament.

Opening Ceremony, Friday 18.50 – 19.00
Round 1, Friday, 19.00 – 23.00
Round 2, Saturday, 10.00 – 14.00
Round 3, Saturday, 15.00 – 19.00
Round 4, Sunday, 10.00 – 14.00
Round 5, Sunday, 15.00 – 19.00
Pairings in all sections will be according to FIDE swiss pairing rules, using the Swiss Master computer program.
If more than 32 players participate in any section then accelerated pairings may be used for up to the first 3 rounds of that section, at the controllers discretion.
Currently top rated players are GM Hebden Mark 2512, IM Hawkins Jonathan 2480, GM Arkell Keith 2435, IM Sarakauskas Gediminas 2403, FM Eggleston David 2327, FM White Michael 2272, Spence David 2235 and Tozer Philip 2199.
