Kramnik won a nice game yesterday to extend the match. However, Anand is leading by the score of 6-4 with 2 games to play. He has White tomorrow and all he needs is one draw to retain his title. What is your prediction? Will he draw or win tomorrow to become the first World Champion to win the title in 3 different formats: Knockout, Tournament, and Match?
Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
i think draw
Anand! Play for win!
The easiest way to lose to Kramnik is playing for draw. Kramnik is positional player, who often change minimal advantaged to a big one and win. In crazy position, like in game 3 and 5, he lost because they were not his style.
My last advice: Anand, play as if the match have already begun, as if you need to win to win the match.
Kramnik won with Black when he had to against Leko. If Anand fails to bring his best game and 100% focus, Kramnik will score again.
I’m rooting for Kramnik and correctly predicted that he would win yesterday, but I think Anand will manage a draw with White.
what do you think Susan?
Anand once said, “If white wants to draw he can.” I say 1/2-1/2, match over.
It will be a draw and WCC for Anand
Has Kramnik ever beaten Anand from the Black side? I am rooting for Amand, but am glad Kramnik won yesterday. Kramnik seemed almost disoriented at the beginning of the match, but Sunday’s game presaged Monday’s victory. Coasting is no longer an option for Anand. I think he has to bring his best “must win” game from here on out.
I would predict that if Anand can avoid time pressure, he will draw at least. If Kramnik uncorks a novelty somewhere in the 15-20 move area – even a speculative one that calls for a lot of think time from Anand, he might be able to pull another one out of thin air.
It should be the highest viewer rating so far.
What are the rules for arriving late in a championship game?
In tournaments, I believe a walk over is given…
But what are the exact rules?
Why don’t you read the FIDE rules and find out?
And by the way: You are wrong!
Anand won’t risk and play for win.
Draw… agreed.
Kramnik lost one game too many, or he should have won the game with Black two days ago. Now it will be just Anand without having too much trouble.
Though Anand might play for a draw, Kramnic wouldnt settle soon and eventually costing him the match and the championship.
I am thinking we see 1.e4 for the first time tomorrow.
I predict NF3
I would like to know what’s the “rating performance” of Anand and Kramnik after 6.0 – 4.0 score in this WCC match. I know I can get the liverating here at http://chess.liverating.org/ where Anand’s current live rating is 2791 (jointly topping the list with Topalov) and Kramnik’s 2764.
Well played Kramnic but you triggered Anand’s instincts and fighting spirit,Anand will prove his form by winning today and announce the chess lovers about how much he deserves to be a WORLD CHAMPION.In all the ten games Anand’s attitude of choosing a lively lines is itself an evidence that he is going to be the champion in this computer era.
I believe that Anand will draw blood. Why? Because he doesn’t play well playing for a draw. That is what Anand tried to do in game 10. He should play the way he played earlier. As others have said, Kramnik won game 10 by playing positionally. However, that is only because Anand played too timidly and played the kind of lines that Kramnik excels at. There was no way for Anand to get any advantage as black in that line–the most he could get out of the line was a draw. I think he will choose a dynamic line that will force Kramnik to reevaluate his game. I could be wrong though. However, I predict there is a 75% chance that Anand draws or wins the next game if he comes playing for a win–if he goes in playing an insipid line, he can expect defeat because Kramnik plays those lines well. If Anand loses tomorrow, then I would say that Kramnik will have the clear advantage because Anand is not as experienced psychologically in matches.
I predict a chess game will be played.
