Who’s the 8th player?
maybe Mamedyarov
who cares?
I had to read the article twice. A knockout tournament?! And besides this…what happened to the Candidates matches?! Anand just retained the WC. Isn’t it supposed to be finding out the candidate to face Anand the way to go? To me none of this makes any sense. Topalov beat Kamsky to become the candidate to face Anand for the WC. Why are they duming this format for?!
How many chances will topalov get? He hasn’t had to qualify for anything and keeps getting seeded. No doubt fid
e is intimidated by his promoters BC really. He should be done now and have to start from bottom like other gms.
Daniel, Topalov’s FIDE rating is second in FIDE ratinglist. Who must participate if not the strongest players? By the way Kramnik also is here by rating although his rating is fourth.
