Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
Looking good, though I’m sorry to see Mikhail trailing. We like him a lot here in Chicago.
Looks like Sloan is history.
Mikhail Korenman will be a very important advisor to this board, especially when it comes to scholastic.
Congratulations! Perhaps NOW we can see positive movements in US Chess. Well Done!
OK. This is from a total outsider who knows nil of US chess politics except what Susan tells me….and that’s just it.
While I am a fan of S Polgar, is there any chance that you have too much influence on people’s votes for the rest of your board? I don’t know how many read your blog and are happy to follow your ideas – but do you ever worry if you might be able to “shoo-in” an entire team?
This not meant with any badness. Just interested in your own take.
Banjanx.
Sam Sloan and his supporters have sunked to a new low. They’re now using race and religion to attack Susan.
So if we divide the total votes received by 4 (assuming every ballot had the full 4 votes on it), it looks like the votes are about half counted.
How long does it take to count 4000 votes anyway? Why bother releasing interim results at all? Couldn’t 2 or 3 people do the whole job in an hour or so?
Banjax,
I have read about Mr. Sloan and he seems like a very strange person. We should all be happy to see (at least) him go.
Rob
Congratulations!
Congradulations GM Polgar!!! You’ve done a great job promoting our sport and I’m so happy that, finally, the USCF will have honest, exceptional leadership.
Whoa! After the updates, things look even better for the Polgar team!! Looks like Sam Sloan is PWNED.
Congrats Susan on a fantastic start for you and your team, and I hope this continues all the way to the end.
Congratulations Susan!
Gregory
What do these totals actually represent? How amny more votes are left to count?
Congratulations, I hope you will make a change. And my best wishes to you in doing so.
Congratulations, and my best wishes to you in making a change for the better.
Looking really good folks. Let’s see how the final numbers stack up. I’m very curious as to who takes the fourth spot (2 yr term).
Congratulations!!
I am all smiles Susan. Some people are talking about making you President of USCF. I would vote for you as President. I believe you are the best person for President of USCF.
But even as President your road will be bumpy.
I voted for Mikhail but Jim Berry was someone you supported. Hopefully everyone on the EB will help support chess in the best way possible as each new issue comes up.
I hope everyone at USCF will now heal their wounds and work together as a team to help chess. I have full confidence in you Susan and I hope everyone unanymously votes for you to be the new President.
Good news!
Susan and Paul in, Sam out. This is a wonderful day for chess, and especially for the children.
I think the chess world now sees what a brilliant strategist Paul is. He’s right all along about this election. He’s made all the right moves so far. I think he’ll be a very important part of this federation.
I agree.
Congratulations with the results! Now it is your turns to actually proof that you will change the USCF for the better!
(cause you actually made A LOT of promises)
Looking very good at 4 pm. What a difference a year makes! Congratulations to Susan, Randy, Paul and Jim — all great, high caliber additions to the USCF board. I did vote for Mikhail Korenman and I hope that he can work with the new board and continue his great scholastic chess initiatives.
I am not surprised by this result.
Well done susan.
Now go kick some ass and make things right.
