I have seen a number of Chess Polls from various sites about the World Championship in Mexico City. So far, it seems that Anand is on top of the polls (41% on my poll), followed by Kramnik (35%) and Aronian at a distant third (15%).
I would have to go along with these polls. It can happen in high level events but I would be very surprised if someone other than these 3 would win the World Champion in Mexico City. It is also being discussed on www.ChessDiscussion.com.
What is your take? Who has the best shot of winning other than Anand, Kramnik and Aronian?

Morozevich has a shot I’d think. His play is dynamic and interesting but lacking in soundness at times. However, he is maturing nicely and could be a pleasant surprise in Mexico.
To me, Leko. He´s been too close for the WCh. He is well motivated.
If we believe in russian hegemony, then Kramnik (and other 2 russians) could help Svidler, to get a future just-russian match, and get Topalov out of the way….
I made an exercise, and tried to get the chances of every player, taking in account 7 aspects: current rating , peak rating , big achievements, physical condition, emotional stability, political support, level of personal motivation.
Here is my list
Anand 22.17%
Kramnik 20.35%
Leko 14.04%
Aronian 11.58%
Svidler 11.47%
Morozevich 10.94%
Gelfand 5.16%
Grischuk 4.30%
Monterrey, Mexico
Anand is my favourite too.
But I never bet when it comes
to any sport.
Not even when Federer plays tennis.
:o)
Making predictions of winner or favourite such tournament is so stupid, but seems that people like stupid things.
Oh well..
Hi,
the winner will be russian player.
It is more probable.
