1. Rf8+!
1…….Rxf8. 2. Bxe5 wins Q for a R
1…….Kxf8. 2. Qh6+. K~. 3. Bxe5 wins Q for a R. (2…..Qg7. 3. Qxg7+. Ke8. 4. Re1+. Be6. 5. Rxe6#)
1……Kg7. 2. Bxe5+. K~ . 3. Qxd8 and white is a Q up for free.
1.Rf8+ Kg7? 2.Rxd8
Sorry 1.Rf8+ Kg7? 2.Bxe5+ Kxf8 3.Qd8+ Kf7 4.Rf1+ Ke6 5.Qd6# so Bxe5 was best.
1.Rf8+ Kg7? 2.Rxd8 Qxd4+ 3.Qxd4+ Kh6 4.Qf4+ Kh5 5.Rd5+ Bf5 6.g3 g5 7.Qxf5 Rg8 8.Qxh7+ Kg4 9.Kg2 with either Rd4# or Qh3# to follow.
How about
1.Rf8+ Kg7 2.Rxd8 Qxd4+ 3.Qxd4+ Kh6 4.Qf4+ Kh5 5.h4
( or 5.Rh8 g5 6.Rxh7+ Kg6 7.Qf7#)
5…h6 6.Rh8 g5 7.Qxg5#
Both very good, I think LeLio thought PROF was short for whatever the French for teacher is which partly explains an angry comment he made about you that I noticed when I was playing back through old puzzles on here, with his anti-authoritarian attitude it would be understandable if he didn’t get along with teachers very well.
1.Rf8+ Kxf8 2.Qh6+ gets Queen for Rook
Incidentally,
1. Rf8+. Kg7. 2. Bxe5+. Kxf8. Only move. 3. Qxd8+. Kf7. only move. 4. Qe7+. Kg8. only move. 5. Qg7#
White mates in only 5 moves. This is superior to 2. Rxd8.
Sorry, WB is on e5. Not f6.
Rf8+! and White wins.
