Brazilian top player GM Alexandr Fier (born in 1988) took on the legendary Henrique Mecking (born in 1952) in a 4 game match. Even though his rating is more than 100 points lower and he was already competed for the World Championship long before his oppponent was even born, the match ended in a 2-2 tie.
Fier took the early lead by winning game 1. Mecking came right back and won game two. Game 3 and 4 were drawn.
