I always wonder why commentators think these guys are second rate. Adams Short…among others…in this tourney are pretty exciting. Should be a fun competition.
Because they are just in the second or even third league. You can count only Adams, Bacrot and Vachier-Lagrave as elite players. Short is way over the hill and fits in the same category as Beliavsky and Andersson.
Thats not disrespectful, thats just how reality is.
