Thanks to American Airlines and a four hour delay in Chicago, I barely made it to the first event in Austin. I basically had time to check-in my hotel, dropped off my bags then rushed to the event site for a 35 board simul at 7 PM. There were many masters, experts, class A and B players. This was one of my toughest simuls ever!

There’s always problems at O’Hare
Susan,
What were the results of the simul?
Thanks
It is not finished yet. After 5 hours, a number of games were adjourned. The building closed at midnight.
Best wishes,

They even had a girl sit at one of the boards in the photo to make it look like girls are interested in chess. Cool!
Those boards are the roll-up style made of vinyl. If you want a really tough board they also make them out of wood glass or marble.
I wasn’t so tough. I resigned after 16 oves.
Hey anonymous – we have several female “regulars” on Sunday nights (austinchessclub. … org?) and Monday nights at Dobie Mall 7 pm 21 St. and Guadalupe, Game/10 (10 minutes per player with 5- or 3-second delay, $1 entry fee). And by the way, I have lost to the girls several times. They may look sweet and innocent…
