Nigel Short and Rustam Kasimdzhanov have rejoined the 2700 club. Aronian gained 5 points to make it back to the top 5. The biggest gain comes from Ivanchuk. He was ranked #2 not long ago. Then his rating took a dive and he was on the verge of going below 2700. But he regained 53 points to get back to the top 10 with relative ease. That is Ivanchuk or you.
Here are the players with ratings over 2700 in the LIVE rating list.

Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
Nice job by Kasimdzhanov!
The picture of the Earth shows the south pole is on fire.
Did a meteor hit the planet?
Global Warming.
I don’t get this. You play “0” games and you are still the number one player in the world when someone like Ivanchuk plays 42 games and barely squeaks by in the Top 10. Correct me if I am wrong, but Kasparov’s rafting was 1852 and since he has not played any games since his retirement he is still #1 in the world, no?
Susan, where’s Judit? I thought she was still above 2700, but I don’t see her on the list.
@Anon @3:27 pm:
To be in the FIDE’s top lists, you need to be considered “active”. Roughly that means having played 4 rated games in the last 12 months. Kasparov lost his active status in 2006, one year after he retired.
His exit-rating was 2812, btw – that’s after Topalov’s current 2813 regardless.
