Fantastic artwork by the incredibly talented artist Serkan Ergün. Click on image to see the full size artwork.
Serkan Ergün, born in Izmir in 1980, has adopted realism. He has rendered “individuals in society” in an attitude of expression in his works. Besides having the talent for visualization of each individual’s character, Ergün tries to provide a unique confrontation for grasping the subject, to the beholder, in all his portraits.

Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
What a fantastic painting!
Is Garry’s game so stunning that Kramnik must bear a blindfold?
I see Zsuzska in the picture too!
What a fun and interesting work of art! I recognized the original scene depicted right away: fischer-petrosian games of 1958 – http://www.beloblog.com/ProJo_Blogs/shenews/08/youngf.JPG
I like how Susan is looking at Bobby Fischer. She really stuck by him, though she’s painted in a style that’s different from the others – maybe a late addition or commissioned work??
Does anyone understand why Fischer is throwing a tantrum against Smyslov? Is this from the ‘Lust for Life’ episode, or is there a story behind it?
I love it!!!!
Who’s that with the camera?
Maybe I’am the only “uninitiated” around here, but could someone please identify the chess players for me? 🙂
Kasparov, Anand, Tal, Polgar, Fischer, Lasker — I am pretty sure about them.
But is that really Kramnik wearing a blind-fold? I don’t see him in there, but again: Maybe it’s just me. Do I find annotations to the picture anywhere?
TIA!
Flip
Seated from left – Kasparov,Spassky,fatman?,Karpov,Botvinnik,Lasker.
Standing from left – Kramnik, ? , Capablanca, Susan!, Smyslov,Steinitz,Fischer,Anand,Petrosian,Tal, Euwe is it?.
Susan’s face is too big and Anand is pleasantly unobtrusive.

I suppose the “fatman” is Alekhine?!
Left to right:
Standing: Kramnik, unknown (who is this?), Capablanca, S. Polgar, Smyslov, Steinitz, Fischer, Anand, Petrosian, Tal, Euwe
Seated: Kasparov, Spassky, Alekhine, Karpov, Botvinnik, Lasker
The “fatman” is Alekhine, did not think he was fat from the pictures I saw through the years.
So, I can tell you what kind of meat Alekhine ate: He ate a choking by a Russian agent. A silk scarf was the tool. It had an early form of chloroform chemical in it. Once he passed out. Agent gently covered nose and mouth until life was no more. With nice little piece of venison chewed up by the agent, the meat was pushed down his throat. The agent left a clue, he cut the meat with a knife from his pocket. The meat left on the plate had a cut mark rather than torn apart the way A. enjoyed eating his food. To honor the chess genius, agent drank the remains of his wine, scarf in hand to hide finger prints. The glass was empty when investigators found the corpse. No man is above his mother country. He paid the price.
The agent was my great grandfather.
Susan check that out all the traditional guys, they even got Bobby standing around with them,Susan they gettin BUCKWILD over there on the ChessDrum, Kramnik wearin a blinfold, do you think they got some secret marbles tricks they usin to make the new positions?
who is the guy beside Kramnik?
I don’t know who the person next to Kramnik is, but he must not be a top chess player. I suspect it is the artist himself or a generic fan, since he is holding a camera.
I agree with jMac. It should be the artist (http://serkanergun.org/)
Is Kasparov playing Lasker? wow 😀
