Anand, Carlsen in Chinese duel

CHENNAI: Categories and formats are the areas where chess organisers in history have tried to experiment. As we move from Bilbao to Nanjing, two very strong events in the history of chess, held in the same month, the elite players get a chance to settle personal scores and alter reputations.
The two bigwigs of Bilbao – World No. 1 Magnus Carlsen of Norway and World champion Viswanathan Anand – return to Nanjing to renew their rivalry (or friendship), and the one name that was missing from the Spanish event, Veselin Topalov of Bulgaria (2803), will be keen to settle scores with the duo.
The Bilbao winner Kramnik will not be there in Nanjing but the presence of three 2800-players makes the Chinese event the first in history to have as many heavyweights in that class. The format at Nanjing is vastly different from the one at Bilbao. The Chinese will stick to tradition and will have a 10-round tournament of six players.

Carlsen will have his revenge.
Carlsen is again World Number 1 in Live Ratings after Day 1 !
But perhaps Aronian who is also playing today in the European Club Cup can overtake him.
