Taking on 30 players in the simul in Central Park at the Chess and Checkers House yesterday. I believe the strongest player was NM Jon Jacobs (2264). The final score was 30-0.
Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
Susan, I’ve seen you taking on IMs and 2500+ players in simuls and 70 people. Why don’t you do like Kasparov and limit your simul to 20 players and rating under 2000?
By the looks of the picture, it looked like a great day. Congrats in winning the simul.
Here’s my own chess puzzle: When does Susan sleep?

For how long now has the U.S. been cloning Grandmasters? Just how many Susan Polgars are there? (Hopefully, enough to fill every seat on the USCF Board.) If I gave up family, eating, and sleeping, I could crack a few more of her puzzles, but then she throws in a chess lecture and a 30-0 simul in Central Park, just for a break.
Amazing.
By the way, thanks for the tremendous effort on behalf of chess.

jcheyne, but our USCF President Bill Goichber compared Susan to the convicted felon Sam Sloan. His buddy CJA President Jerry Hanken called her a detriment to the USCF. They obviously don’t like people who work hard and make positive things happen.
A slight correction for “chess freak”: “Our soon-to-be-former USCF president …”
Kerry, I agree with chess freak. Goichberg won’t relinquish his post too easily. Channing and Hough will vote for him to stay as President. Or they’ll vote for Channing who has no clue what’s going on. They won’t allow Polgar to be President.
Forget about Goichberg guys. He’s a disgrace as the USCF President. He has major conflict of interest running his big money CCA. He shouldn’t have taken the position of USCF President. But he wants control of the USCF so it can benefit him.
I gave up on the USCF. As long as Goichberg and Schultz are on the board, I’m not renewing my membership. Schultz did many good things for chess but he also made many whoopers. Going against Susan this time and allowing wackos to attack Susan and Paul is the last straw. It showed me that he doesn’t care about the USCF.
Oops. Didn’t mean to poke a stick in the USCF hornet’s nest. Just a point of admiration. And what have I been doing for 2 days? I’m still trying to solve an endgame resulting from yesterday’s “Tricky chess tactic.”
Back to it.
Thanks again, Susan.

I was the ‘last man standing’ in the CP simul yesterday. Maybe I lasted that long because, after I blew a pawn in my opening it really was just a ‘matter of technique’ for Susan to eliminate pieces and trade down to a winning endgame. I thought I could offer some drawing chances, since there was very little material and bishops-of-opposite color. However, she maneuvered and found a way to make the extra pawn pay off, and I resigned when faced with a tough predicament.
I tell you, I don’t usually expect to last this long in these exhibitions. Having GM Polgar directly across the board from me, moving instantly without walking away while in the meantime I was surrounded by about 20 spectators watching my every move was quite nerve-wracking. I guess I burned a few (needed) calories. Whew!
An enjoyable time was had by all. Unfortunately, I missed out on the free lunch – but a free lecture and a free simul certainly makes up for it. Thank you, Susan.
(meow)
Jon Jacobs is a well known very nice guy. But I feel like giving him a little kidding about losing his game. I know Jon likes to win.
Better luck next time Jon.
And Susan dont ever let him win and do not even let him get close to a draw. Chess will have Irina Krush and Jon Krushed.
Nice score Susan 30-0.
LOL
A good friend of Jon’s
Guess who Jon.
Still pretty sexy in those pants.
