India must have its own zone.
unclear what is lost or gained for being in a separate zone?
From reading elsewhere it seems like It was an Indian proposal to be in a separate zone rather than a geographic exclusion from outside influence.
Reasons are not clear.
a)– wants to keep prizes to itself, be restricting competition ? this is useless and might not be the case as hopefully the system will not prevent foreign participants.
b)- for no reason, india simply wants to imitate russia and china, just because.
c)+ more lower level fide tournaments/activities in India
d)+ reduce travel costs to far off tournament venues.
e)++ financial separation wants funds granted or money raised through fide india to be spent more in india. This might be plausible.
f)??
