The Open Women’s Bulgarian chess championship “Thracian princess”celebrated its 10th anniversary with the annual edition of the tournament from July 20 through July 26, 2015.
The event was played in a 9-round Swiss format with tempo of play 90′ + 30″. The venue of play was County Youth House of Vratsa, a city in northwestern Bulgaria, at the foothills of the Balkan Mountains.
WGM Margarita Voiska, 11-time Bulgarian champion for women and 2013 European Women Senior champion, emerged a sole winner with 7 points. She took the trophy, leaving the nearest followers half a point behind.
The second place was shared in a three-way tie by WGM Elena-Luminita Cosma of Romania, 15-year-old WFM Anastasia Avramidou of Greece and 13-year-old WFM Gabriela Antova of Bulgaria, after the whole group finished the event with 6,5 points.
Voiska performed at Elo rating 2408 to gain 25 new Elo points, while Antova added the record-breaking 80 Elo points.
