The 2012 Olympiad drama continues as the front runners tied each other. Kramnik scored a brilliant win over Aronian. However, Movsesian returned the favor by downing Grischuk while board 3 and 4 both drew. Therefore, the race for gold is still wide open.
In the Women’s Olympiad, Hou Yifan knocked out Tatiana Kosintseva to give China an early lead. However, Zhao Xue inexplicably went for broke and lost against Nadezhda. Board 3 and 4 drew. Therefore, unless there is a total collapse, Russia should win the gold medal.
