Giants-Cowboys. I didn’t see the Colts Chargers, but I was nervous wreck during that last series for the Cowboys. Nice to see the much maligned Eli go a round deeper then big brother. 🙂
They’ll need some mild weather in Green Bay for a chance to go to Super Bowl. If it’s another snowbowl like yesterday’s Packer-Seahawks then I think packers will blow em out.
Both the NFC and AFC Championship games APPEAR to be complete duds. Packers beat the Giants by 22 at New York the first time and the Patriots beat the Chargers by 24 the first time (both games were in week 2 of the regular season). Yawn, but always beware of an upset anyway.
Favre and the Pack vs. Brady and the Patriots COULD be a rematch from over a decade ago when Favre was actually a young QB and beat New England. Will anyone be able to take out the New England Goliaths this year? As a Rams fan, I would love to see it happen. Go Packers (Favre has played well nearly all season and COULD be a difference maker if the Pack make it to the SB).
Dallas will always be America’s Team. No one outside Massachusetts cares about the patriots. Please. Get real. They are the most boring, no-sizzle franchise ever. Millions root for the Cowboys, win or lose. They are the straw that stirs the NFL drink. When the pats get their 5th SB title, then they can join Dallas at the big boy table, along with SF and Pitt.
The comment from anonymous of 1000 CST points out that for many famous franchises, there are often as many supporters outside of the local area as there are in the immediate town or region. The Dallas Cowboys are popular not just in north central Texas but well into Mexico, the Southwest USA and around the rest of the country. The Patriots have captured the interest of the country this year because of their unique record, but haven’t quite developed the regular national following as the Cowboys or for that matter the Packers. The Oakland Raiders are a team for example with a national following despite only an average record over the past few years.
The US population is among the most mobile in the industrial world with the typical person moving on average every 5 years. With shifts in demographics norh, south, east and west, soon we’ll see national support for nearly every team.
For sure Giants – Cowboys and Chargers – Colts. This is a no brainer.
The NY – Dallas game was thriller.

The Sunday games were far and away the better games.
It’s official: Dallas is no longer America’s Team. the Patriots have taken over that moniker, as well as Boston taking over “Title Town”.
Celts, Red Sox, Patriots.
As Chris Matthews would say, “It’s good to be a racist from Boston.”
TTU vs. UVa!
Now that was a game!

For sure, half of the games were “the” most exciting??
Yep, that’s a no brainer all right. Literally.
Football in the snow was fun to watch, even though the game was lopsided and my team lost.
