Is Kamsky still 2671 after Mtel? He was that before Mtel and he did super there.
the Mtel tournament has probably not been rated as yet. I believe kamsky will go up to around 2700 after both tournaments are calculated maybe 2690’s
Yes, with the Olympiad games so far, he would be very near 2700.
Best wishes,

Long Live Gata Kamsky!!!!!!
I am so glad he is back playing chess again. He has already made his presence known, but Kramnik is showing so far who the real World Champ is and it is not that clown Topalov as Kasparov himself said in interview yesterday, Topalov does not impress yet.
“clown Topalov”
If you must know, Kramnik is one of Topalov’s aids. He works for him, preparing new opening theory lines, since 1999. Of course, he is paid for this job.
Go clown Topalov!! Go USA!! Go Mongolia!! Go all the chess sisters in the World!
Difference between USA, HUN and RUS:
Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin sent the Greetings telegram to Anatoly Karpov, the International Grand Master and the President of the International Association of World Funds. The telegram reads: “You are an outstanding extraordinary person and the real master. Your contribution to the development of the best traditions of the national chess school is enormous. The admirers of this popular sport appreciate your talent, courage, persistence and hard work. We deeply respect your intense public activities to which you have always devoted much attention”.
“I believe kamsky will go up to around 2700 after both tournaments are calculated maybe 2690’s”
If thats the case, he should stop playing now and keep his elo, so he can get more invitations for tournaments later.
That’s not an option, when playing for USA.
Susan, what do you think about the new rules in chess, that don’t allow you to bring mobile phones into the playing hall?
I am not really sure why a player is not issued a warning, but zeroed instead, without right to appeal.
If mobile phones have become a part of chess game, then I suggest new strategy, perfectly sound and legitimate, as much as preparing for your opponent, by looking at her games from a chess database, mind you, games placed there without most players permission. Collect all mobile numbers of our next opponents and let’s give them a call during the games. We are bound to get at least one point somewhere, if the arbiters strictly follow the rules.
Kamsky already quit and kept his elo for 8 years. Now Kamsky wants to play.
the Fide ratings are on first day of
January
April
July
October
I am not fixed on his rating but on his play. Recently his play has been beautiful and wonderful. that is what is important. the rating will take care of itself.
I am a little surprised at Nakamura’s recent play. I think he did not do real well in his last tournament and he is a little below par now. I hope he gets all his creative energy going again. He is so wonderfully talented.
Ok, ok, you got me. I am allegedly an arbiter, and this may be the only way to finally get the players to leave their pet phones in the hotel safe box, and not carry them to their games.
“I am a little surprised at Nakamura’s recent play.”
Do we have some inside information about how our players have prepared and actually are preparing for their games? Any captain’s and trainer’s comments mentioning this?
Susan
what do you think about Kamsky and Nakamura playing the exact same moves as white for so long in round 5. It was creating quite a stir on the internet.
I am not sure who deviated first. Do you think both black and white were copying moves. maybe they were trying to play psychological games. haha.
Maybe Nakamura should have kept up the moves since Kamsky won in the end.
“Now Kamsky wants to play.”
Go Kamsky!!
Susan,
I do not understand Nakamura’s loss in round 5. Did he run out of time? Is there a mistake in the moves as given at the official web site? I have looked over the ending several times, and it would seem that 63…d2 wins for Black.
Thanks in advance.
Anybody know how she calcuated that? I’d like to know how to calculate my perfomance rating (USCF since I’m not FIDE rated). How do you look at his win/loss/draw score and get the 2896?
“what do you think about Kamsky and Nakamura playing the exact same moves as white for so long in round 5. It was creating quite a stir on the internet.”
What do you think about the opening theory in these two games? Isn’t it contrary to logic?
“Anybody know how she calcuated that?”
There is a free performance calculator somewhere on the FIDE website.
GM norm I mean
As to Nakamura’s loss: I believe that placing the white king to e4 signifies a white win on the DGT. It got mistakenly recorded as a move
Krush needs to play at least 3 GMs to get a GM norm. There are only a few GMs in the women’s field – Humpy, Stefanova, Kosteniuk and Zhaoqin Peng (Holland). Since, she is playing 2nd board and all these people are playing 1st board, it is unlikely she will get a GM norm.
In an Olympiad, you do not need to play titled players (GM) to get GM norm.
A 2601 performance over 9 games (at least), any or no titles, will be a 20 game norm!
