Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
Svidler is the most boring player.
And your comment is the most predictable one.
Anybody knows the record for the most consecutive draws by a player and that ‘great’ player? Might be one of the famous ‘K’s, considering their matches.
Asim
what’s the point of the headline, susan? To direct hate towards Svidler?
What the hell is wrong with you? Susan is a friend of Svidler. She just stated the fact that he drew 10 straight. Why do you always think of the sewer?
when there is a great win by anand, incredible fight between leko and topalov and since many chess fans hate draws, an unremarkable fact such as that as the main headline sounds a little dubious.

LOL. The sewer! It shouldn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that a gentle chiding of Svidler was intended. (that “direct hate” comment was almost as ridiculous as yours, BTW) It may have escaped your attention, but fans hate large numbers of draws. Next time, don’t just jerk the knee, actually listen to what Susan is saying and try to think what it means, painful as that may be to do.
There is nothing shameful about a draw at this level of play. We’re talking about “super-GM’s” Their knowledge of chess is so far beyond what anything any of the former “anons” have posted that their insulting comments are ridiculous.
If it weren’t for computer chess programs, I doubt you could even analyze a game at this level and understand why one of the GM’s made a certain move!
Stop the insulting. These guys know what they’re doing…win, lose, or draw.
Plus, how many of you “anons” think they could play Svidler to a draw?
Hmmmm, ZERO. So stop the childish insulting.
Just look at Topalov’s sad performance in this tournament. And, to think, he wants to play for the WCC again when he is obviously not WCC material.
After all, he was only the FIDE champion…never the TRUE World Champion (i.e. the successor to Kasparov).
>>Plus, how many of you “anons” think they could play Svidler to a draw?>>
LOL. I may not be able to outplay Svidler, but I could certainly outthink you. The very idea that Svidler can’t be criticized because he’s good enough to beat some patzer on a blog is idiotic. Did you think about this before you said it, or did the old knee just jerk?
Plus, how many of you “anons” think they could play Svidler to a draw?
Maybe.
If one learn some of his lines, and if he is tought that he plays against fritz, who knows.
: )

Are you saying that Topalov cant have even one poor performance due to fatigue, bad luck, etc…
Topalov just finished joint first in the Corus Tournament in which the so called “World Champion Kramnik” ended up fourth.
Topalov can prove himself to the world….
Let him play the newest verstion of RYBKA in a match and win just one, just ONE game…maybe draw a second…that would prove a lot…but he will not play against computers as Kramnik, Adams, and Kasparov did.
Plus, if he played Rybka…any Dainalov gesture would have little merit as his “advice” would be coming from a program weaker than Rybka because the newest version of Rybka can defeat any human GM in the world. Period.
For even the best to get a draw would be a powerful statement on the GM’s abilities.
The ‘so-called’ World Champion Kramnik?! Some denial issues there, methinks.
Anyone who found the Svidler-Ivanchuk battle boring is a fool. If you hate draws like this, you hate the game. Tough. PlayStation should suit you.
Is Svidler the only top player with young children, apart from Judit P? Personally I find it amazing that anyone with young twins can play chess at this level at all. After all they do say there is a 50-point per child ELO drop in performance, and from my own experience I can believe it. Not that it’s not showing in El Svid’s play: given that he is presently blundering about twice a tournament, the fact he’s able to play at 2750 level is testament to his considerable class. On and off the board, unlike his detractors, few of whom can manage either.

In reply to the last guy, Topalov’s played computers in the Bilbao events. He didn’t do wonderfully, but then nobody does. Be nice if we could check our facts before making these spittle-flecked anonymous rantings on the internet.
