Kamsky won the World Cup and will face Topalov for the right to challenge the winner of the Kramnik / Anand match. Ivanchuk is in Mexico competing in the Carlos Torre Memorial. Grischuk, Morozevich and Svidler are competing in the Russian Super Championship. Anand and Kramnik will play a 12-game match in Bonn, Germany next October.

Wch 2008 looks unfair to looser of Anand Kramnk match. Atleast he should have a match against winner of Gata- Topa mathc or a right to challenge the winner. Ofcourse the looser will be a stronger player than either Gata or Topa.
I don’t understand: Ivanchuck lost to Graf and now he is playing Harikrishna as what seems like a penultimate. What’s going on there in the Carlos Torree?

I have heard a rumor that USCF’s President has turned down Gata’s request for funding.
