Kamsky won the World Cup and will face Topalov for the right to challenge the winner of the Kramnik / Anand match. Ivanchuk is in Mexico competing in the Carlos Torre Memorial. Grischuk, Morozevich and Svidler are competing in the Russian Super Championship. Anand and Kramnik will play a 12-game match in Bonn, Germany next October.

Gata will go all the way but will the USCF help him?
good morning susan, just wanted to thank u for a splendid year, nice meeting u in person, although i dont have the pictured.
have a smahing xmas and happy new year, best wishers for next year
yours sincerely, jb.
The mouse is only lending its crown to Anand.
Wch 2008 looks unfair to looser of Anand Kramnk match. Atleast he should have a match against winner of Gata- Topa mathc or a right to challenge the winner. Ofcourse the looser will be a stronger player than either Gata or Topa.
I don’t understand: Ivanchuck lost to Graf and now he is playing Harikrishna as what seems like a penultimate. What’s going on there in the Carlos Torree?
‘Ofcourse the looser will be a stronger player than either Gata or Topa.’ ???
What is the base for such an opinion.
If not Kramnik privileges Anand will play winner of Topalov – Kamsky match. !

I have heard a rumor that USCF’s President has turned down Gata’s request for funding.
Susan is this true? Shouldn’t some attempt at fundraising be done?
Time for a new USCF President… let us vote for no confidence!
I want my dues back!
