I still think 1. Nc6 is an interesting move, but I guess here should be something more direct and enforcing to this puzzle. Something involving a double check I guess.
Quite enforcing looks: 1. e6 fxe6 2. Nxf5++ Kf8 3. Qg7+ Ke8 4. Qxg6+ and white is directly up with a piece without any compensation for black.
1. e6 (a) fxe
2. Nxf5++ (a1) Kh7 or Kg8
3. Qg7#
2. … (a2) Kf8
3. Qg7+ Ke8
4. Qxg6+ White up a piece, but maybe I missed something here.
1. … (b) Qd6
2. Nxf5++ 1-0
1. … (c) Qd8
2. Nxf5++ Kf8
3.Qg7+ Ke8
4. Qxf7#
Mark
1.e6 fxe6 2.Nxf5+ Kf7 3.Qg7+ Ke8 4.Qxg6+ Kf8 5.Qg7+ Ke8 6.Qg8+ Bf8 7.Nxh4 Qf7 8.Qxf7+ Kxf7
I very much like the move
1. Nc6!
threating both 2. Nxc4 winning bishop and 2. e6+ winning queen.
Black must move queen, opening of d-file should become desicive.
1. … Qe6 (seems best)
2. Nxc4! dxc4
3. Rd7!!
threating to grab Be7.
And here is e.g. 3. … Kf8? (Qxd7?? e6+) 4. Nxe7! Nxe7?? 5. Rd6! grabbing queen.
3. … Re8
4. Rad1
White gaining more and more terrain, black’s pieces increasingly tied up to protect each other.
e6 followed buy Nf4 i think looks good.

e5-e6 looks very tempting, with threat of Nxf5 double-check …
1.e6, fxe6
2.Nxe6++, Kf7
3.Qg7+, Kxe6
4.Qxg6+, Bf6
5.Bc4,
