After convincingly winning the 2008 Bosna tournament, Alexander Morozevich continued the tour in the heart of the Balkans with participation at the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Five participants of the super-tournament, with the exception of Leinier Dominguez, have formed the base of government darling Bosna-Sarajevo. Morozevich won with white in the first round against Dragan Solak (2630) and drew Ivan Ivanisevic (2649) in the second. He is expected to show up on June 8th in Armenia for the start of Chess Giants Yerevan 2008.
The Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina is taking place on 4-12th June in Neum. Bosna Sarajevo, record four-time European Club Cup winners, is always a favorite to claim the national championship. However, last year surprising winner was Zeljeznicar Sarajevo. See the team lineups, there might be some interesting conclusions. It is a paradox that the community is investing so much in national league, yet it failed to send a team to the European Team Chess Championship.
He’s trying to be #1.
He is following the Ivanchukian method of raising your ELO 😛
