Kwan is forced to drop out of the Olympics
After a very rough workout Saturday, Michelle Kwan decides to withdraw due to a nagging groin injury. The five-time world champion pulls out of the Olympics, abandoning the shot at her first Olympic gold medal. I am sure it was a very difficult decision for her. I support her decision.
16-year-old skater Emily Hughes, younger sister of 2002 Olympic champion Sarah Hughes, was added to the U.S. Olympic team on Sunday in place of Michelle Kwan. Good luck to the US Women!
Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
I know she poured her heart and soul into wanting to win the olympics. it is everyone’s dream.
I will grieve with her. I know it must be super difficult for her to make this decision.
Michelle if you are reading this I want you to know that all the sports fans of America love you and you dont have to win a gold in the olympics to be loved. you are already loveable and loved by everyone.

Yes, she’s a true champion and an ambassador to her sport, just as Susan with chess. Two classy ladies.
Although her history is glorious, I have a doubt about everything she did in last 6 months. Staying away from national chamiponship, then holding secret trial for herself and reserving a seat for olympics and again now withdrawing….all look suspecious and this all was not good for the third ranked Emily Hughes!!!!
