Message from GM Sébastien Feller
Cordialement,
Sébastien Feller
Message from GM Sébastien Feller
I fully deny the cheating accusations by the French Chess Federation. This disciplinary procedure has to do with my support of the current FIDE President (Kirsan Ilyumzhinov) during the Chess Olympiad (in Khanty-Mansiysk) instead of the current administration of the French Chess Federation. In addition, the FIDE President was defamed in the blog of Jean-Claude Moingt (President of the French Chess Federation) who claimed that he benefited from fake proxies.
On top of that, I mentioned in various private conversations, which were later repeated, of the irregularities in financial accounting by the French Federation (some of the specifics will be provided at a later date) which further angered the French Federation President.
I have requested for my lawyer, Mr. Charles Morel, to begin legal action for damages against the French Federation for having without reason cited my name in a statement, and it was republished by all the French and foreign sites, as well as the international media.
Cordially,
Sébastien Feller
I hope Sebastien will win in court.
You are for the cheaters ??? What a shame
I hope FFE will win for the future of chess
How does anyone know if he cheated or not? We only heard the allegations from FFE. I’m not convinced. And until the court says he’s guilty, he is OK in my book. If FFE is wrong, they just ruined this young man’s life forever for their own political game.
That damn FFE and its president Le Goichberg.
200 messages to his phone during the games !!. Come on people. I think its rather obvious don’t you think?.
What good does 200 messages be if he had no access to his phone during the game? All players went through medal detectors and no phones allowed in the playing area. It’s obvious someone was trying to set him up. In addition, how would FFE know about it unless they’re the one who try to frame him for revenge? Use your brain dude.
The FFE allegation doesn’t pass the smell test.
Isn’t this the same message as the first one Feller issued back in January? Or did you just reprinted it?
Yea, I was also dubious of the claims until I heard the specifics of how the cheating happened and it is all pretty clever and hard to deny. Basically he used phone numbers sent to him in text messages to have his team captain walk from table to table, which were coded to represent the moves.
200 messages on the phone does not prove anything, not more than 200 times going to the loo as Kramnik did in his Championship match.
Moreover Fuller ended in the first 10 during the last European Championship, without losing a game and having all eyes on himself.
I find it a bit odd that all of the denials have to do with technicalities and questioning the motives of the federation. Why doesn’t he come up with a plausible explanation for why the 200 messages exist, and demand that the messages are published and compared with the actual game score, so we can have an objective evaluation?
I absolutely agree with Johan; the entire defence is built upon technicalities and not on the real accusations.
If Feller and Hauchard have nothing to hide, then they would not object to having their phones checked by the FFE. Their behaviour is not only suspicious but rather very revealing; plus their counter-accusation of “conspiracy” by the FFE is, simply, weak.
I hope their behaviour is severely punished as they have very negatively affected the reputation of competitive chess players.
