Magnus Carlsen Wins Mikhail Tal Memorial 2011
Magnus Carlsen pulled an all-important last round victory with black against Hikaru Nakamura to take the winner’s trophy at the 6th Mikhail Tal Memorial in Moscow. Carlsen shared the first place with Levon Aronian but had a better tie-break due to more games with black pieces.

Aronian entered the final round as a sole leader, but he had to play with black against the inspired attacker Ian Nepomniachtchi. Indeed, Nepomniachtchi sacrificed an exchange and gained a long-term pressure. Aronian was on the defending side for more than 60 moves but he managed to obtain a draw and repeat the success from 2006 and 2010 when he also shared the first place.

He’s an amazing player. But Nakamura is more talented.
Here is something for scaredypants Magnus
“I think players should like any kind of tournaments. You should not chose what you like, but try to prove that you are the best in any system” and ” There is no system that I prefer. I like to play in any kind of competition” Hou Yifan ( interview ) Great girl!
Topalov once had the knack of winning round robin tournaments by ripping apart the opposition, but he just about came up short in match play. So Magnus, you are an exciting and great player, but….????
some win tournaments; some win matches; some neither – nakamura
Sure Nakamura is more talented. He lost against Magnus. He cama last. Magnus won the tournament. Magnus is younger than Nakamura.
Of course Nakamura is more talented. Logical conclusion…
