Late morning chess tactic Puzzle Solving, tactic White to move. Can White save this game? Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
With two Queens, there’s GOTTA be a mate somewhere, doesn’t there? 🙂
1. Qb3+ and now
1. … Kd2
2. Qc8-c2+ Ke1
3. Qe3 mate
1. … Ke1/e2
2. Qe7+ Re4
3. Qxe4+ Kd2
4. Qe4-e3 mate
Bob
Qf3+ and Qd3+ is a draw

But what about
1. Qf3+ Kd2 instead of 1. … Ke1?? White can draw with
2. Qe3+ Kd1
3. Qf3+ Kd2
4. Qe3+ etc. of course.
But the mate with 1. Qb3+ seems much more convincing.

hopefully that helps you out with the last problem abie. take it easy.
My instinct tells me white cannot save herself in this position. Black’s threats are just too great and overwhelming.
