Why on earth do we have a major scholastic tournament at a time when most kids are still in school? The National Open used to be in mid June, right after school lets out. Now all the kids are still in class. Many older students from California and other western states who would otherwise be able to play in National Open can’t because of final exams.
I know this costs the National Open at least 100 entries and probably costs the scholastic side events 50 or more as well.
Awesome tournament! Go Fred Gruenberg!
