I think Ivanchuk will break 2800 in 2008.
don’t be so sure, he lost around 36 between OCT07 and Jan08 and will drop to #9 or something with approx 2750.
I think that is his realistic rating (2750), he moves around up & down, but that is more or less his level of play in my opinion.
he is not an 2800 player since he doesn’t have the right attitude (he certainly has the talent for that though…)
And what exactly is the right attitude, Anonymous?
I think his nerves play a part in reaching the absolute top.
The right attitude is to work with manager and seconds, to plan your major tournaments way ahead so you can prepare deeply for your powerful opponents (who prepare deeply for you), not to play in minor tournaments before the major ones in order to avoid deviation and tiredness, etc. (just look at the way Anand, Kramnik, and Topalov work and understand).
Unfortunately Chucky has none of these behaviors in his attitude.
so?? hes better tgan u and can take u out any day man…
actually it was 3-1.
jb.
p.d i hope he makes the 2800 , it dont matter if he drops later on, look at kaspa he has 0 rating, even a low worm like myself have more rating than him!!!! je.
