Game teaches patience, logic

“It’s a fun game, but you have to think before you move,” fellow 8-year-old Darquin Malone said, finally taking his turn. “It’s like thinking before you do something in life. … Your move.”
The Woodcreek Elementary School third-graders have only been learning chess since fall, but they – and a growing number of local students and educators – take the game seriously.
