A lubbocki Texas Tech Egyetemen megalakult Polgár Zsuzsa korábbi sakkvilágbajnok intézete.

Congratulations Susan! We’re all very proud of you.
sakkolimpiai
Hah! I actually understood that word! “Chess Olympiad.” 😀
(I think….)
Excellent! Thank you Susan and Paul for doing so much for chess, Texas Tech, and Lubbock.
Dear GM Polgar,
Amongst the many “congratulations” you have received, I want to add mine. I read your book “Breaking Through” and it inspired me in many ways. Your accomplishments speak volumes for women in chess. What you’ve already done in the area of scholatic chess has touched the hearts of so many people…many whose name will not be known any time soon but will trace their legacy back to your inspiration.
Your commitment, love for the sport, is a gift to not only America, where you’ll be the coach at the University of Texas, but to the world.
I don’t think “thank you” is enough. I really cannot come up with words that can express how proud so many of us are of your job, your “mission” to enhance chess. I can think of no other person alive that does what you do every day. I’ve never been a religious person but I must say, if there is such things as “miracles,” then you are one.
The lives you’ve touched, the example you have set as to what a true chess professional should aspire to be, is profound.
And to think that there are people who sit and do nothing because they believe in the myth that “one person can’t change things.”
The “power” of one person can aand oftend does change lives in such a positive way. Despite the state of our world today, with wars, artificial boundaries, hate, crime, etc…you are a glowing example of hope…of what not only can be but what one can achieve despite whatever “odds” are against you.
You lived it. You know. Now, more than ever, you can share this with the next generation. God bless…and I wish you the utmost success with SPICE. memories fade…but legends do not. The name of “Polgar” will be known in the centuries ahead…let the USCF politicians go to H*LL. I’m sure your team will win.
But no matter what…I believe you’d say, “keep the faith in chess and never give up on your dream(s).”
Thank you GM Polgar for so much and your entire family for being such great supporters of our beloved sport. Your book inspired me and it has made a difference.
For this, though I’m just a single voice amongst so many, I have to say “thank you.” God speed…and when you’re elected…give’em hell! You have the support of so many…we can change the state of chess in this nation….one person, one game at a time. What better example, what better leader than you to begin this evolution?
Sincerely,
“Seneca”
Texas Tech University (TTU) is NOT University of Texas!
Sorry – this is a an issue for other Texas schools that are constantly being confused with UT. UT is a great univeristy but not the only one….In terms of state universities we have Texas A &M, North Texas, Univ. of Houston and a bunch of “branch” schools – e.g., UT Dallas, UT Brownsville, UT Arlington etc. UT refers to Univ. of Texas, Austin – the mothership. UT is arguably the largest and most fameous Texas school (Rice might not agree though) but in terms of chess UTD and UTB are bigger.
P. S. I am not a Texan.
