Guam Chess Federation will provide free chess lessons at the Dededo community center on the following dates and times: Oct. 7 4:30-6 p.m., Oct. 12 1-4 p.m., Oct. 17 4-6 p.m., Oct. 21 4-6 p.m., Oct. 26 1-6 p.m., Nov. 02 1-4 p.m. These lessons are for everyone, particularly chess players from various Guam schools that are interested to participate in the 2015 Interschool Chess Championships in December. All instructors are certified FIDE teachers.
Guam Echecs (Island Chess) meets 2 to 9 p.m. every Sunday on the second floor of Harmon McDonald’s and 2 to 8 p.m. every Saturday at the Dededo Mall. People of all ages are welcome to play and learn. Info: Leon Ryan at 788-1631.
