The 2015 Guam International Open Chess Tournament is scheduled to take place on 17-22nd July, 2015, at the Guam Reef Hotel, Tumon, Guam.
The tournament will be conducted as a Swiss System competition of 9 rounds and will be played according to FIDE regulations.
The total prize fund is US$8,000. Prizes may be increased if more than 40 paying entries.
Top prizes are US$2,000 / US$1,200 / US$ 800 / US$700 / US$ 600 etc (ten prizes). There are also prizes for best woman, best local player and for brilliancy.
Upon registration, each official player shall pay to Guam Echecs the entry fee of $200 which includes five (5)days lunch buffets.
The first five (5) titled players to register (GMs and IMs only) will be provided with lodging from afternoon of July 17 till noon of July 22 with breakfast and lunch meal allowance.
The time control is 40 moves in 90 minutes, followed by 30 minutes to finish, with 30 seconds per move from move 1. The default time is 30 minutes.
