Doesn’t 1) f7 win rather easily for White? Black doesn’t seem to have anything better than Nxh6, 2) gxh6, Bxh6, 3) Kxe7, and while the Bishop can stop one pawn, the e-pawn will Queen well ahead of Black’s g-pawn. Am I missing something?
1. f7 Nf6+ 2. gxf6 exf6 looks good, but for Black! BB can stay on the a3-f8 diagonal and stop the e pawn. WK cannot stop either the f or g pawns if it takes on e7.
1. f7 Nf6+ 2. Kd8 Nd5 3. Ke8 Bxh6 4. gxh6 g5 and black’s pawn will queen first.
There is no other move possible but 1. f7.
1. fxe7? Bxe7 Black wins
1. Ke8? exf6 2. gxf6 Nxf6 3. Kxf8 Ng8 and g pawn escapes to promote and win.
Karthik’s first main line above seems to be the solution:
1. f7 Nxh6 2. gxh6 g5 3. Ke8 Bxh6 4. Kxe7 g4 5. f8Q+ Bxf8 6. Kxf8 g3 7. e7 g2 8. e8Q g1Q 9. Kf7+ Qg8 10. Qxg8#
(one side line to note: 4. f8Q+? Bxf8 5. Kxf8 g4 6. Kxe7 Kg7! 7. Kd7 g3 8. e7 g2 9. e8Q g1Q ends in a Q endgame
with Black advantage, probably drawn though)
other lines are some odd red herrings.
1. f7 Nf6+ 2. gf6 ef6 3. e7 obviously wins for WHITE: there is a pawn on f7, it promotes and Q mates in 2 moves!
1. f7 Bg7 2. hxg7+ Kxg7 3. fxg8Q+ Kxg8 4. Kxe7 h5. 5. Kd7 h4 6. e7 h3 7. e8Q+ and mate
1. f7 Bxh6 2. gxh6 Nf6+ 3. Kd8 (or Kxe7 or whatever) wins
Etc.
Am I missing something here? This looks too easy.

1. f7 N:h6 2. gh g5 3. Ke8 B:h6 4. K:e7 g4 5. f8Q+ B:f8 6. K:f8 and White wins. Easy? Yes, fairly.

so it doesn’t seem that f7 is the solution
Silly me, there’s a pawn on f7
1. f7 Nf6+ 2. Kd8 Nd5 3. Ke8 Bxh6 4. gxh6 g5 5. f8Q
1. f7 Nf6+ 2. Kd8 seems to do it?
After 1.f7 black can play 1…. Bg7 when you have to analyze 2.h6xg7+ but instead 2.Ke8 will put the ball in black’s court.
Forget about my suggestion.2….. bg7 3.hxg7+ easily wins.
I mean 1… Bg7 2.hxg7+ wins.
So far
1. f7 Nxh6 2. gxh6 g5 3. Ke8 Bxh6 4. Kxe7 g4 5. f8Q+ Bxf8 6. Kxf8 g3 7. e7 g2 8. e8Q g1Q 9. Kf7+ Qg8 10. Qxg8#
1. f7 Nf6+ 2. Kd8 (gxf6 exf6 and black wins) Nd5/g8 3. Ke8 wins
1. f7 Nf6+ 2. Kd8 Bg7 3. hxg7+ Kxg7 4. Kxe7 wins
1. f7 Nf6+ 2. Kd8 Bxh6 3. gxh6 wins
