Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
So China defeated Russia by 5 points and UK by 8 points. Who’s da Daddy of chess now?
China’s recent results with Russia and the UK only mean one thing:
Talking about the G and the M, all GMs are “equal”, but some are “more equal” than others.
China didn’t beat a Russia “A” team.
Nevertheless, China beat a strong team comprised of all players over 2650. In fact, few other federations could compete with the team Russia featured. I’m not so sure they couldn’t beat the “A” team either. Russia’s “A” team hasn’t exactly been dominating team events since Kasparov retired.
China has simply arrived and people have not accepted this fact. With aging Russian players and China getting younger by the minute with hordes of talent, they will dominate chess in 10 years.
Why the Russian does not send an A team that has Kramnik and Morozevich ?
