Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
Talk about total domination! All 5 of the Chinese men have positive scores – Ni, Wang (Hao) and Zhang @ 3.5/5 and Bu and Wang (Yue)@ 3.0/5. And the 6th member of the men’s team, the 13-year old girl phenom, Yifan Hou, has scored 2.5/5, a score only equalled by U.K.’s two big guns, Adams and Short.
Let China come to the USA and take on the likes of Kamsky, Onischuk, and Nakamura and then will see who’s King.
In a joint male and female competition, as in the one that the Chinese just thumped the Russians, I fear the U.S. would offer little competition. The Chinese women are far too strong, having 7 of the top 50 women in the world compared to but 2 for the U.S..
I thought the US had an ongoing US-China match.. whatever happened to that?
A deployment of exclamation marks worthy of Miss South Carolina – but do the UK claim to be anywhere in the league of chess nations. I doubt it.
Well since this is sort of an exhibition( not sure if its fide rated). The US could field S.Polgar, Irina Krush, and some other former Olympian. Mens side Kamsky , Onischuk, Nakamura, perhaps Shaba. I dont think we would do too bad.
The Chinese are very smart, they chose weaker teams to crush. Come on over to USA and feel the chess strength!
“IM Houska, Jovanka 2401 – 2278 Ding, Yixin WFM 0-1”
If I were USCF, and I am not, I would pay chinese trainers gold to come and train our girls who want to be pros. If a WFM can beat an IM with black, then its all about how they are taught as beginners.
We the Chinese are the best chess players in the planet. Admit it or resign.
Note that the proposed US team of “S.Polgar, Irina Krush, and … Mens side Kamsky , Onischuk, Nakamura, perhaps Shaba” consists of talent born and, with the exception of Nakamura, developed elsewhere. This doesn’t speak well of the state of American chess.
China the sleeping giant is waking up in more ways then simply chess. They are going to be the dominant world power soon. the us is going bankrupt with stupid wars and china is building up an incredible industrial machine. We do not even want to educate our own people.
