Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
Is Carlsen the greatest world champion ever?
Didn’t know he had that title. Time flies. :OD
He achieved his thus far highest rating with a win on the white side of a King’s Gambit. Whoo-hoo!
brad h.
Given the time lag between the picks for challengers to meet the world champion, and the time that the final match takes place, when Carlsen becomes WCC the strongest player will be Giri (by a lot).
Given the ages of young GMs and their rapid development, shouldn’t the WCC format be revised?
Shouldn’t the WCC be the (current) best player in the world?
What a moron – anon June 18 6:29 pm.
“shouldn’t the WCC be the (current)best player in the world. If you go by ratings, then WCC can be changing every few months! And we all want a rousing match up to decide the issue. Given the difficulties of preparation etc I think a match once in 2 years is just fine.
