Leko 1 – Bareev 0
Grischuk 1 – Rublevsky 0
Aronain 1 – Shirov 0
Gelfand 1/2 – Kamsky 1/2
Based on the level of play today, do you expect any blowout like Leko – Gurevich and Kamsky – Bacrot? And after 1 game, have you changed your mind about which players will win their matches?
Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
Leko will crush Bareev and Aronian will crush Shirov. Others will be close.
No change in mind. Things are going the way I expected in – http://chess4you.blogspot.com/2007/06/fide-candidates-match-2007-round-1.html
Hi,
I have not changed. Everything is going according my prognosis.

I agree that Leko will crush Bareev but I don’t think Shirov or Rublevsky will get crushed. Shirov and Rublevsky have enough experience and talent to keep it close. If one of those two players gets crushed my money is on Shirov. Rublevsky will hang in there. Obviously the real battle is Kamsky v. Gelfand.
typo: Aronain
The Only player here thats boring to watch is Gelfand. The rest are all scrappers….I hope Kamsky dumps him quick….problem is he’s pretty solid but booooooooooooorrring.
Gelfand will crush Kamsky. Big time.
My picks all won except Kamsky who drew.
I am kind of surprized that Kamsky used one of his precious white’s to take a short draw after he had a few days rest. It was not a good sign to me.
Results so far are certainly consistent with ratings.
It’s only one game. Everything is still quite open. Bareev, Rublevsky, and Shirov are all very experienced, and could hit back anytime.
It is too early! After 3 games we will have a closer “ball-park.” Too many people are simply influence by the event at the moment that it happens. If this what not true, propaganda would not be so effective.
Kamsky will win.
Aronian will win.
The others will go to blitz tie-break, where anything is possible.
shirov-aronian..cool game today..i think shirov may score the comeback win..!
