Got one right the two times I’ve tried to predict, but still can’t resist. My guess this time around:
Anand wins.
Rest draws.
I’m wondering if I’ll get more than one right this time. Somehow one would suspect Aronian and others to push for a win if Anand looks like winning, so three draws is far from evident in such a context. At the same time, the players seem more conscious about the dangers of risk-taking, and it may not be before round 13 that they will start taking particularly risky decisions again.
And I guess Kramnik will place his honor in not letting Aronian have an easier time against him than Anand. Topalov-Svidler feels like it can end in all kinds of ways, whereas the likelihood of a draw between Mamedyarov and Karjakin seems greater to me.
Aronian may underestimate Kramnik (due to what the latter has shown lately). Somehow a draw or a win for Kramnik seems more likely to me than a win for Aronian.
