UWI to attend inter-collegiate chess championships

THE Chess Club of the University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus will be taking part in its first ever International University Chess Championships event. This will happen when it attends the Pan-American Inter-Collegiate Chess Championships in Miami, Florida, from December 27-30.
UWI Cave Hill will be taking two teams to this event. UWI number 1 ranked player, Shamell Howell will be anchoring UWI�s first team at Board 1. He won the Challengers section of the Heroes Day Cup and was the first qualifier of the Barbados Chess Nationals.
The full team reads:
Team 1 – Shamell Howell (Captain), Mark-John Alleyne, Craig Clermond, Anthony Francis-Worrell, Craig Harewood, Marcus Greene.
Team 2 – Amiliton Wilson, Kyle Walkes, Matthew St. Bernard, Jamai Puckerin, Jerald Johnson, Andre Stoute.
