Anhat, Aarushi, Aryaman are chess champions

CHANDIGARH: Anhat Singh of Strawberry School with 4.5 points in under-13 Open category, Aarushi Mittal of Strawberry School with 3 points in under-13 Girls category and Aryaman Gupta of St. Kabir in under-7 Open category with 3 points emerged champions in their respective categories at the Chandigarh Chess Championships at St. Xaviers Senior Secondary School in Sector 44-C here today.
Two boys and two girls in each category were selected to represent Chandigarh at the Nationals to be held at Chennai (Under-7) from 17 to 25 August 17 to 25 and Gurgaon (Under-13) from August 30 to Sept 7.
Chandigarh Chess Association chairperson Dr. Anil Raina distributed the prize winners and participants.
Final point positions:
4.5 points: Anhat Singh, Shishir Lamba. 4 points: Aayush Raj Kapoor, Jashan. 3.5 points: Ishaan, Shivom Sood, Rohan. 3 points: Krish, Arnav Khushwaha, Ekam Singh, Pratham Puri, Raghav Prinja, Jaspreet Singh, Arjun Sagar.
2.5 points: Manav Gupta. 2 points: Shaunak Chaudhary, Punya Garg, Raghav Chaudhary, Sikander Bansal, Shubham Singh, Manit Singh, Jaivir Chopra, Udish Arora, Parus Banota, Jaskaran Singh. 1.5 points: Taarush Mittal, Aditya Sharma. 1 point: Nishit Garg, Pratyaksh Goel, Rhythm, Vedant.
U-13: 3 points: Aarushi Mittal, Shrushti Fulzele. 2 points: Mitali Saini, Vishruti Garg, Gia Chopra. 1 point:Saumya Lamba, Gurnaaz Toor, Jannat Guron.
U-7 : 3 points: Aryaman Gupta, 2 points: Akshun Punchhi. 1.5 points: Mehul Sharma. 1.5 points: Parmanyu Garg. 1 point: Daksh Sihag.
