Will Topalov bounce back? Can Anand overtake Kamsky? Can Kamsky keep up with this torrid pace? Will Anand be #1 in the next FIDE rating list?
Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
It is difficult for Topalov to bounce back. Anand is going to be #1 most likely in the next FIDE list. I don’t know what Gata is having in his mind.
The first 2 of my comments are mainly due to “Topalov will not use any of his secret weapon in this series”. It is very likely that he will keep all the surprises/secrets for Kramnik. His priority would be to keep World Champion title than keeping #1.
Interestingly the “logic” on draw seems to be something different and we should wait and see how different style of games gives different results. Atleast this one suits very well for Kamsky so far.

I am thinking that the results of Round Five will provide significant insight into the questions posed in this entry. But even then Svidler, Anand, and Topalov have all shown themselves capable of going on a winning streak in strong events. But I hope Kamsky is able to continue playing good chess and have a successful result.
hmmm … the reborn star is spanked by Topalov … hmmm…

if the tournament ended today, Anand will be 6 points ahead of topalov. Anand needs to finish a half point ahead of Topalov to be #1. This is not counting the Olympiad, where Anand is going to play a few games.
“if the tournament ended today, Anand will be 6 points ahead of topalov.”
Did you count the 4 points or so Topalov gained from the Nisipeanu match?
How many points can Kamsky go up from Mtel and could he be #1 soon?
haha….after today….topalov is typically warming up…like he usually does….he’ll be fine.
Nice to see the Kamsky do well.
Watch out Gata, Topalov is an extremely strong finisher!
