I am not sure of the details but when I checked the FIDE April 2007 rating list, it shows a new female Grandmaster:
Hoang Thanh Trang (HUN) g 2472
She was originally from Vietnam, now living and playing for Hungary. She won the World Girl’s Junior Championship as well as Olympiad Gold, both for Vietnam. According to FIDE database, she was ranked #10 in the world in October 2000 with a rating of 2493. She has been an IM since April 2004.
This means that she is the 12th female player to earn the Grandmaster title. Congratulations!
Perhaps someone can update us with more information about Hoang Thanh Trang.
