British man wins ₤25,000 on his own life

A British man literally bet on his life to win ₤25,000 from the bookies.
Alec Holden celebrated his 100th birthday yesterday after he beat the bookmakers with a wager that he would live for a century.
He had placed a ₤100 bet almost 10 years ago and the retired engineer says a daily diet of porridge and playing chess was the key to his longevity – as was remembering to keep breathing.

Not by definition! The great Mikhail Tal died way too early! So did Colle, Nimzo, …..
I attribute my longevity to the fact that I haven’t died yet.
Seems a safe bet for him: if he loses, what are the consequences?
