Gata Kamsky defeated another tournament leader (Sasikiran) today with the Black pieces. He is now at even score. It seems that Gata has played better since his laptop broke down, scoring a +2. Nisipeanu defeated Adams while Mamedyarov held on for a draw against Topalov.
Once again, all the players are separated by 1 point!
Nisipeanu, LD 1:0 Adams, M
Topalov, V 1/2 Mamedyarov, S
Sasikiran, K 0:1 Kamsky, G
Games to come soon.
Current standings:
1. Sasikiran 4.5 (+1)
2-5 Mamedyarov, Topalov, Kamsky, Nisipeanu 4.0
6. Adams 3.5 (-1)
Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
Go Kamsky! Once again, Susan is updating the news before all the other major sites.
Great wins by Nisipeanu and Kamsky !
this tournament is a thrill
What if Adams beat Sasi, and the other two games end up in draw…
All tied
The next two games determine the winner. I personally dont like tiebreaks. I prefer a playoff.
It definitely has gotten exciting. Nice play by Kamsky.
Topalov came close to winning. But it ended in a Draw. That was an exciting game. Shak had a great attack going with the chess engines saying they could defend.
Go Gata Go
Great going GATA KAMSKY! I love this guy since 1990. This tournament is great. The games are exciting. Sofia rules rule! I hope Gata ends up first place. Did he ever get the replacement laptop? Seems he is winning since laptop went dead. Now I am inspired for the National Open in Las Vegas. I will get to see two legends, Viktor Korchnoi and Susan Polgar. I have drawn two World Champions in my life now, Tigran Petrosian in NYC Manhattan Chess Club and last year Susan Polgar! Now I have my eyes set on Viktor this year, perhaps a victory? What a scalp that would be :o)
