Press Release #20 of 2007
(Crossville, TN) The 23rd Annual Denker Tournament of High School Champions will be played at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Cherry Hill, NJ from July 29 to August 3. This event was founded by GM Arnold Denker to provide an opportunity for the best high school players from each state to meet and compete. Visitors are invited to attend the Opening Ceremony at 9 AM on July 29 where each representative will be recognized. This year, a scholarship will be provided by Texas Tech University.
Here is the full list of participants.
It’s too bad that Goichberg and Schultz killed the best sponsorship deal that this event has ever had.
Go Jamie! She’s representing Utah and the only girl playing in the Denker I believe.
Does anyone know the standings for both Denker and Polgar tournaments? Monroi.com doesn’t have any information.
It’s irritating not knowing what the standings are for the scholastic tournaments: Denker & Polgar. The US Open standings are updated timely on the USCF and Monroi.com sites, but for Denker and Polgar it’s bits and pieces here and there depending on who decides to write about them and usually just highlights. Why not post current standings as well??
