I just received a request for assistance from the Braille Chess Community to locate special chess clocks that can be used by the blind and visually impaired players. If you have any information about the existence of such clocks and how they can be purchased, please let me know. Thank you very much!!

Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
I saw a blind player use a regular wooden analog clock. The only difference is that the glass was removed so the player could feel where the hour and minute hand were.
Susan,
Thanks very much for all the work that you put into this blog. I check it every day!
A tactile chess clock (apparently like the one described above) can be purchased at

It’s expensive, I’m sorry to say.
Susan,
A player in my K-12 club just purchased the Garde Blind Clock from The Chess Federation of Canada.
It appears to be a modified Garde Analog clock. He is very happy with the quality. I believe it was the last “Braille” clock they had in stock. I see it is still listed on their website and the price is better than the previous rehabdirect post.

I just noticed the I link posted to chessdiscussion doesn’t work. The topic is “Chess Clock for Blind Players” which is indexed under “Chess engines, devices, and programming”.
